The Civils and Infrastructure Division at Ford and Stanley are proud to be working with one of the UK’s leading Civil Engineering and Asset Management specialists to assist in the growth of their Surveying and Geomatics business unit.

Our client is seeking a Survey Team Leader focusing on 3D Surveying, for the review, development and implementation of technical surveys including 3D Point Cloud Scanning, Hydrographic Surveys, use of Drones and other technologies. The ideal Survey Team Leader will have a sound knowledge of geospatial surveys particularly in engineering surveying using total stations, GNSS and laser scanning. The client would also like to investigate the potential of integrating photogrammetry into their inspection processes.

Courtesy of our client’s growth, there has come a need to expand their Geomatics team to meet customer demands in all sectors including Marine, Utilities, Defence, Rail and Highways.

Responsibilities:

The Survey Team Leader will be carrying out onsite surveys to ensure all site operations are compliant. They will also be involved in the development of site models and graphical drawings using CAD. There will be an emphasis on training and developing Junior team members.

The ideal candidate will be reporting directly to the Head of Marine, Utilities, Defence, Rail and Highways, in relation to the development and review of technical surveys using 3D Point Cloud Scanning, Hydrographic Surveys, use of Drones and other technologies incorporating LiDAR.

  • Acting as a Technical Lead for Geomatics surveyors
  • Carry out and manage onsite surveys 
  • Lead on site data processing and data management
  • Development of site models and graphical representation of acquired data
  • Software

    • Autodesk Civil 3D”
    • “AutoDesk Recap”
    • “Trimble RealWorks”,
  • Hardware (but not limited to – open to other forms of hardware) 

    • Total stations – “Leica TS16”, “Leica RTC 360”
    • Laser scanners – “Trimble”
    • Various Leica devices – “GNSS”
