The Situation

Ford & Stanley Digital are currently partnered with the UK’s leading part supplier to the Railway industry, with expertise across Infrastructure, Traction and Rolling Stock. Working in a safety critical environment, it is crucial to ensure. With over 1800 suppliers, they need to work their way through auditing them to ensure they focus on quality, costing and assurance, and the team are tasked with completing 1 audit per week. This is a critical role within the organisation and is important to ensure the development and quality of suppliers can continue to improve.

Opportunity

As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for having control over the risk that comes into the business by evaluating the supplier’s quality and conformity. You will be controlling the supplier list, determining which suppliers are suitable to work with. As the SQE, you will be visiting supplier sites nationwide, completing audits, and determining the most appropriate next steps for the supplier. By using your expertise, you will be given complete authority and control over your decision making. You’ll be able to solve a range of internal and external problems and make positive change within a supply chain that has direct impact on safety within the Railway industry.

Skills and Attributes

  • Lead Auditor certified (IRCA)
  • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Auditing experience
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
  • Rail based (desirable)
