Situation: The Civils & Infrastructure division at Ford & Stanley are proud to be working with one of the rail industry’s most exciting rail consultancies. My client are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take the reins of the day-to-day commercial operations (client side) of a prestigious £80m+ rail project which includes the development of several stations and a new rail line. The right candidate will be managing a small (but capable) commercial team made up of 2 Assistant Commercial Managers, as well as liaising with the contractor, managing change, early warnings, compensation events, CVRs etc. As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be working alongside other key delivery partners and will be expected to integrate into these wider teams to complete projects under tight timescales.

Location: Birmingham with hybrid working (occasional site visits)

Who would be right for the role?

Essential: 5+ years of quantity surveying experience
Essential: Rail experience would be beneficial, civils (NEC) experience as a minimum
Essential: Well-rounded commercial acumen, having managed a project from implementation through to final accounts
Essential: Demonstrable team leadership experience
Essential: BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification
Desirable: Associate or Chartered Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
