Requirement for a Rolling Stock Engineer to support and provide technical assistance to a brand-new fleet introduction, ensuring fault-free running and increased services for the public in the area.

Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting a Rolling Stock Engineer for a local public transport provider.

 

The Opportunity

Ford & Stanley Recruitment are working with a local public transport provider on their search for a Rolling Stock Engineer. This is a new position to provide ongoing support and technical assistance during the introduction of a brand-new fleet of 46 trains. Working closely with the manufacturer to ensure all testing is completed, faults or issues reported and trains successfully introduced over the coming years, this role is integral to ensuring safety and service is guaranteed to their customer base.

Location (s):

Newcastle. Hybrid working model available, but this role will require flexibility around working hours and travel, including travel within Europe.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Conducting vehicle inspections,
  • Supporting on-site assurance activities,
  • Approving technical manuals.

 

The Candidate

This role will require a good understanding of Rolling Stock Engineering, however interpersonal skills will be just as important due to the requirement to liaise with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external.

 

Essential and Desirable Skills

 

  • Rolling Stock Engineering experience
  • Degree educated would be advantageous but not essential
