The Opportunity

Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts are working with a global train track maintenance provider that have recently won a major project with Network Rail for specialist on track plant and have nearly doubled the number of specialist maintenance machines they operate. Due to an internal promotion, they require a resourceful, problem-solving Reliability Engineer to uphold the high reputation of the company by ensuring high levels of reliability and driving positive changes to maintenance process.

Locations:

Hybrid, Eastwood, Sherwood Park (Annesley), travelling to various sites around the UK.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and solve faults and failures of on-track machinery.
  • Proposing solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Collecting reliability data to propose machine improvements, suggesting minor modifications.
  • Presenting solutions to the client.

 

The Candidate

With experience working with heavy machinery, the ideal candidate will have an engineering background and be a quick learner capable of mastering their understanding of a variety of electrical and mechanical systems. Proactive communication will be key due to the requirement to report to the client and liaise with a variety of internal stakeholders.

Essentials

  • VMI (Vehicle Maintenance Instructions) Experience, writing and amending.
  • Hands-on experience.
  • HND / HNC / BEng / Apprenticeship Trained.
  • Experience with engineering drawings and planning minor modifications.
