Experienced Project Manager needed to head a modifications programme for a fleet of trains for a 6-month contract.

The Opportunity:

Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting a Modifications Manager who will add a responsible and challenging position to their portfolio of successful projects. This will be a busy role that will contribute towards modern and safe public transport for a major train operating company. Both complex in nature and client facing, this position will be ideal for someone looking for a challenge and a way to utilise their entire project management skillset.

Locations:

Longsight, Manchester / Neville Hill, Leeds – based at depot which is closer with 1-2 days a week travelling to the other depot.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organise the ongoing modification of the vehicles, prioritising work in order of safety, reliability, and client request.
  • Liaise with various internal departments in order to ensure the successful completion of the project.
  • Act as a link between the client, the regular maintainer and company providing the modifications.

The Candidate

A Project Manager, who has seen programmes through from cradle-to-grave, the candidate will be motivated by responsibility and a challenge.

Essentials

  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience in a client-facing position.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Projects or other project management software.

Desirable

Experience with rolling stock, however other relevant industries will be considered (heavy engineering, rail, aerospace, bespoke and complex engineering manufacturing projects).
