Project Manager – Commercial & Bids (Rail/Rolling Stock) – £60,000 – Derby

The Opportunity

We require a project management professional to take the reigns for commercial management and engineering bid activity from an exiting owner of a rail engineering business that has been acquired by larger group.

This needs to be an individual who has got heavily involvement with the costing, bids and commercials of Rolling Stock projects. 

The Role

This is a key hire to directly replace the skillset possessed by the previous owner of the business. This person will be responsible for providing high levels of accountability across the business’ project operations and its finances. 

You will be acting as the sense checker against all projects, operations, budgets and costings, whose expertise would be used across the whole business.

A critical role to the business’ operations, this is a well varied and commercially focused position, responsible for having a deep understanding of the nature of the business’s operations and the associated costs.

The role is focused on commercially managing performance against KPI’s and budgets and providing commercial scrutiny of the bids process.

A core focus will be to implement new, formalized and sustained processes that work within the new structure.

Candidate Essentials

• Experience in a commercially orientated position in a rail rolling stock environment
• Comfortable in a numerical and spreadsheet driven role. Finance background is also suitable.
• Strong willed – ability to extract commercially driven information against specific measurables.
