Requirement for a Project Coordinator/Commercial Administrator to work for the UK’s leading part supplier to the Railway industry. 

The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Coordinator/Commercial Administrator to join the Commercial team of a £Billion company. You will hold some exposure to the bid/tender process, and be trained up to become a fully fledged Bid Manager, supporting Bid Proposals for upcoming projects. 

You will actively improve the bid-writing capacity of the Commercial team and see the tangible effects of your efforts: contributing to the winning of potential new business opportunities. 

With an established international client base, including the likes of Network Rail and Siemens; the successful candidate will quickly become indispensable to the organisation. Your role will provide exposure to not only the commercial/finance/operational teams, but a direct insight into the SMT and the internal functioning of a successful business.

Location: Doncaster (Hybrid after passing of probation)

Salary: Up to £32,000

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end bid process, acting as a key touch point for bids for all stakeholders.
  • To deliver proposals and bids to the customer base, through the management and development of high quality and compelling proposals to meet business targets for growth and profitability.
  • The ability to work on the basis of self-initiative is essential, as work is generally proactive. There is a requirement to use analytical skills and judgement to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Directly responsible for meeting critical deadlines and exacting customer requirements to ensure business growth as well as retaining existing customers through contract renewals.

Essentials

  • Experience of bids, e.g. previous bid writing/managing experience, or involved in bid process management, or project management/coordination.
  • Hold an understanding of what a good bid looks like, and how to write one.
  • Stakeholder management experience – how to progress a bid.
  • Dynamic person, willing to learn.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Rail experience (desirable)
