Project Accountant

Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting a Project Accountant for a UK leading Rail Freight and Logistics Company.

The Opportunity

• Supporting key areas of the project from a financial standpoint and ensuring key costs are paid to ensure project progression.

Location (s):

Nationwide (Office-based and working from home)

Role and Responsibilities:

• Collate project costs and ensure these are invoiced and paid within expected timeframes. Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Reconciliation, reporting, forecasting, expense management, in addition to end-to-end financial experience.

• Proactively deal with any issues that arise and be accountable for your own workload.
• Using internal systems such as SAP and be comfortable with using and interpreting company finance data on the Ledger.

The Candidate

Due to the size and scale of the project, there are a lot of unknowns and inputs, therefore the project accountant will need to be a proactive individual who can get out and communicate with a wide range of staff across the business to ensure that they capture and allocate all the relevant costs. Ideally coming from a project-based background, with experience of working within timeframes highly beneficial.

Essentials

• Use of SAP (Or other equivalent systems)
• Ability to project report, forecast, analyse and interpret data.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Desirable

• Ideally a Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, finalist or QBE accountant.

• Previous accountant experience within a high value project.
• Previous experience working within a Transportation background.
