Bids & Procurement Manager

The Situation

Ford & Stanley Recruitment are working with XEIAD, a Civil Engineering Consultancy who specialize in the surveying of “difficult to access areas” across Civils, Marine, Rail, Defense & Utilities. They are looking to grow their Commercial Business Unit by hiring a Bids & Procurement Manager to facilitate the management and timely delivery of Bids. A crucial addition to the team, they will work with the Sector Leads, Estimators and BDM to co-ordinate all bid-related activities and enable the wider business unit to focus on their day-to-day deliverables.

The Opportunity

  • Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire an adaptable & confident Bids & Procurement Manager to join their commercial Team. This addition will represent the company on a commercial level and act as the central Hub & contact point for all bid related activities.
  • The B&P Manager will be responsible for the company wide coordination, delegation and dispatching of reports, bid writing and related tasks, and will ultimately ensure that the most competitive bid is delivered in a timely manner.
  • The procurement aspect of the role relates to the procurement and onboarding of subcontractors, and related administration.
  • The successful candidate will have to take manage up to 35+ bids at any given time across a range of specialist sectors such as: Rail, Highways & Marine and Defense Utilities. The requirement comes directly from increased levels of growth and poses an opportunity for the candidate to expand their team in the future, through hiring an Assistant Bids Specialist.

Location

  • Ilkeston, Derbyshire
  • Hybrid Working (3 days office, 2 days remote)

Salary

  • £35,000-£40,000 per annum
  • £4,200 Car allowance (£350 p/month)

The Ideal Candidate

  • Bid Writing Experience – Proven experience of compiling and winning bids
  • Effective Organizational & Time Management skills
  • Able to work closely across various teams and chase work from colleagues
  • Desirable Qualifications (CIPS, APMP, RICS, CIOB)
