The Situation
Ford & Stanley is currently partnered with one of the UK’s largest independent suppliers of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and consumables. They hold an excellent reputation in the market and have seen consistent growth over the last 2 years, increasing revenue from £80 to £100 million annually. Due to this growth and increased demand on the IT Team, our client is looking for a confident and astute Infrastructure Engineer to bolster their technical capabilities and project delivery efficiency. The IT team of 4, supports over 200 users and is set to embark on a large-scale Infrastructure project. As part of the business’s growth, they are currently in construction of a new facility and the IT team will manage the full infrastructure setup, with the installation of c.20 access points and 8 new switches.
Opportunity
As part of a smaller team, you will gain exposure to a range of projects and technologies outside of a “normal” Infrastructure Engineer role. Acting as an escalation point to the Service Desk you will deal with more specialist tickets and support the IT Business Systems Manager where required. With recently acquired premium 365 licenses and continued ambitions to transition to cloud-based storage, you will play a pivotal role in a number of exciting projects. This role will act as Infrastructure lead within the business, you will have structured training and development with a team culture that promotes achieving technical certifications. The IT team is currently completing ITIL certifications to bolster their overall ability.
Skills & Attributes
- IT Support/Infrastructure Engineer experience
- 3rd-line support experience or strong 2nd-line experience
- Exposure to Intune, Antivirus, Networking, office 365, and AD
- Experience with database admin, ITIL, or cXML is highly desirable
