Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting an Indirect Procurement Lead for a leading Rolling Stock Manufacturer
The Candidate:
An influential and persuasive procurement professional, the successful candidate will have an understanding of procurement and demonstrable experience leading teams through periods of change or transition. The ability to manage objections and work with potentially reluctant colleagues will be essential in this position.
This candidate will also be able to step into a blank slate, working with a large degree of autonomy to shape and mould the position in a way that can lead to significant savings throughout the business.
The Opportunity:
Joining the business in a brand-new role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to help define and sculpt the responsibilities and daily activities of this position. They will also be joining at a time where the company is undertaking a number of exciting projects, including the electrification of the site and the manufacture of a new product line, meaning this role will be busy from day one.
As an international manufacturer, this role will also come with the opportunity for international travel for training and meetings.
Working Practices:
Office: Newport. Some flexibility/hybrid working dependant on business need. Potentially up to 2 days per week from home.
Hours: 40 hours per week. 08:30 – 16:30 with some flexibility.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the Definition and Implementation of local purchasing plans
- Defining and implementing the KPIs for the team
- Developing and maintaining the performance information for each supplier
Essential and Desirable Skills and Experience
- Leadership experience. Must be able to persuade and influence people.
- Procurement experience.
- CIPS/MCIPS (Desirable)
- Change Management experience (Desirable)
- Spanish speaking (Desirable)
