Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts are seeking a Direct Senior Buyer to work with CAF Rolling Stock on their projects to manufacture trams and trains for the UK and international markets.
CAF Rolling Stock are a prestigious train manufacturer, who are leading the way in technological advancement for passenger transit and implementation of environmentally friendly solutions. As a result of CAF UK obtaining governance over their procurement, the Senior Buyer will have the unique opportunity to set up a new supply chain and make their strategic mark on new processes. The candidate will be empowered to achieve substantial cost-savings to add to their portfolio of personal success and will be rewarded with investment in their personal development, as CAF is open to sponsoring various professional courses including CIPS and Prince 2.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Procurement of C-class components
- Support negotiations
- Set up new suppliers
- Cost Management of allocated budget
The Direct Senior Buyer will be a strategic thinker who thrives on responsibility and will be motivated by a challenge. Communication skills are essential, as the role will entail liaising with stakeholders from Spain, Europe, and a large portfolio of potential suppliers. They will benefit from a pleasant work environment, effectively collaborating and learning from a sociable close‑knit team.

Shift Pattern/ Hours
- 40 hours a week, 7:30 – 16:30 (could be flexible)
- Hybrid, 3 days on-site, 2 days working from home
