Are you a recently graduated Quantity Surveyor/ Assistant Commercial Manager, looking to take the next step in your career?
The Civils and Infrastructure Division at Ford and Stanley are proud to be working with a leading Civils and Asset Management specialist who are seeking an Assistant Commercial Manager, to join their ever growing Highways Division, leading on all day-to-day commercial management activities, in order to allow the Highways Division to thrive.
The successful Assistant Commercial Manager will be comfortable with challenges across all commercial activities including reporting, analysing, and forecasting to identify resource requirements.
They will also be responsible for implementing commercial best practice to maximise contractual entitlement and save costs on projects where necessary, therefore a sound understanding of contracts is essential.
Opportunity
The ideal Assistant Commercial Manager will be commercially aware, particularly around contracts, with the ultimate end goal for them to manage the Highways division unit.
Along the journey, they will be well supported in their development, by a friendly and close-knit team, 1 to 1 mentoring and the opportunity to enroll in various training courses (e.g. Contract Management courses).
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious candidate to fast-track their way to becoming a business unit lead.
Location, Salary & Benefits
- Ilkeston: 5 days on site for the first few months – (hybrid option available once fully embedded in the team,)
- Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum
Key Essential Criteria
- Bachelors or MSC in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management – Essential
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft packages including PowerPoint – Essential
- Exposure/Knowledge of various Contracts including NEC, JCT etc – Essential
- Awareness and understanding of Project Management procedures & stages – including regular reporting and stakeholder engagement– Essential
- Sound understanding Project Management programs such as CMAP, Export – Desirable
